How to install
Installation or upgrading is fairly simple. Read the instructions below!
Installing Kix2Exe
- Install Kix2Exe by running the Kix2Exe installer. The default installation path is C:\Program Files\Kix2Exe.
- Inside the installation folder you will find a bin\kix subfolder. Put kix32.exe and wkix32.exe into the bin\kix folder. You need at least the KiXtart v4.51 executables because of the password protected pre-tokenising feature.
- If you want to use the /kixforms parameter, put a copy of kixforms.dll (the Kixforms Classis DLL that is) into the bin\kixforms subfolder.
- Optionally add the Kix2Exe installation folder to your %PATH% environment variable. This makes it easier to call Kix2Exe from where your scripts are located.
Installing Kix2Exe-Gui
- Download and execute the Kix2Exe-Gui installer.
- During installation specify your current Kix2Exe installation folder.
- After installation, start Kix2Exe-Gui from the shortcut that is added to your Start Menu (or by executing Kix2Exe-Gui.exe from the Kix2Exe installation folder).
Note: to run Kix2Exe-Gui, the .NET Framework 2.0 is required.
Installing Kix2Exe for U3
- Download the U3-edition of Kix2Exe.
- Add Kix2Exe for U3 to your Launchpad like any other U3-program.
- Execute Kix2Exe - KiXtart Script Packager from the Launchpad and go to menu Help > U3: Open the Bin subfolder. The bin subfolder is opened in the Explorer.
- Put kix32.exe and wkix32.exe into the \kix folder. You need at least the KiXtart v4.51 executables because of the password protected pre-tokenising feature.
- If you want to use the /kixforms parameter, put a copy of kixforms.dll (the Kixforms Classis DLL that is) into the bin\kixforms subfolder.
Upgrading Kix2Exe or Kix2Exe-Gui
Simply install Kix2Exe or Kix2Exe-Gui over your current installation. The installer will take care of removing the no longer used parts of the previous installation.
